law+tech blog

A little bit about me and this blog: I am an early-career lawyer and recent Texas Law grad who is fascinated by the expansion of Internet, IP, Privacy, and Free Speech law--especially in connection with today's emerging tech and digital media needs. Relatedly, I am also interested in the tech policy issues that concern online communities and the platforms in which they thrive, e.g., the democratization of information, digital rights management, net neutrality, ISP liability, and more.

Through this blog, I hope to pick apart and discuss some of these topics, many of which pertain to areas of law that are complicated, new, and largely unregulated.

Thanks for reading!

Privacy in the EU and US

February 04, 2016

A very informative listen.

My thoughts on this debate as well as on the reasons driving the differences in Privacy between the EU and US are forthcoming. In the meantime, The Two Western Cultures of Privacy: Dignity Versus Liberty by James Q. Whitman is a great primer for a comparative understanding of the varying social, doctrinal, and policy approaches to Privacy Law in the EU and the US.
